A CUSTOM CONCRETE POOL WITH INTEGRATED SPA, DESIGNED AND BUILT IN-HOUSE FOR A CONTEMPORARY FAMILY HOME IN ALTONA.
Project Overview
This project was designed to create a generous, resolved outdoor space that works as an extension of a contemporary family home in Altona.
The pool and integrated spa anchor the rear of the property, balanced against a covered alfresco pavilion and open lawn so the space supports everyday family use and relaxed entertaining in equal measure.
Design Intent
The design prioritises clean lines, calm proportions and a strong connection between the pool, the home and the surrounding outdoor area.
The tiled interior gives the water a soft, reflective quality, while stone surrounds and frameless glass fencing keep sightlines open and uninterrupted.
Rather than competing with the architecture, the pool was proportioned and positioned to sit quietly within it, allowing the whole space to feel considered and cohesive.
Designed for Family Living and Entertaining
A key focus of the project was creating a layout that serves more than one purpose.
The integrated spa sits within the body of the pool, giving the family a place to unwind without adding a separate built form, while the adjacent covered pavilion extends use of the space across the seasons.
The result is an outdoor environment that moves easily between quiet weekday use and weekend entertaining.
Construction and Delivery
Delivered entirely in-house, the project was carefully managed across every stage of the build to maintain consistency and alignment with the original design intent.
Particular attention was given to tiling, levels and the transitions between the pool, stone surrounds and lawn, ensuring a clean and well-resolved final outcome.
